  • Abstract: The basic objectives of the proposed industrial research project are:
    • the structured acquisition of knowledge (representable through defined and experimentally validated models and algorithms/calculation codes) related to the conditions peculiar to the annual life cycle of agricultural crops of wheat, grapevine and olive and related significant land/environmental variables;
    • the realization of an integrated multiscale system of satellite, airborne and ground-based (mobile and fixed) payloads/platforms and a mobile command/control center, for the management of carrying out systematic (large-scale), targeted (small/medium-scale), specific (on condition on critical events) observations of crops and related territories/environments;
    • the definition and implementation of an environment, networked with the command/control center, for managing the storage of the large amounts of data acquired and their manipulation in order to build a machine learning system for predictive modeling and decision support in the domain of agricultural crops;
    • the design of a service, distributed over the network, for growers suitable to provide them, in an easy and economically sustainable way, with the correct information to support the optimal management of the processes of the annual production cycle of their crops;
    • the definition of the best methodology and observation missions at the various stages of the annual crop production cycle to optimize cost-effectiveness.
